An irrigation project constructed at a cost of ETB 406 million has been inaugurated in Botor Tollay District, Jimma Zone.
The project was financed and implemented by the Oromia Irrigation and Pastoralist Development Bureau in Kamiso Golla Kebele, Botor Tollay District with a total investment of ETB 406 million.
The irrigation scheme has the capacity to develop and irrigate 600 hectares of land. It is expected to benefit more than 1,000 households and provide water services for approximately 3,000 livestock, thereby contributing significantly to agricultural productivity, food security, and improved livelihoods in the area.
The project forms part of the Bureau’s ongoing efforts to expand irrigation infrastructure and support sustainable agricultural and pastoral development across the Oromia Region.
