LLRP II Provides 42 Motorbikes to 21 Project Woredas in Oromia

Oromia, Ethiopia — The Oromia Irrigation and Pastoralist Bureau (OIPB), through the Lowlands Livelihood Resilience Project Phase Two (LLRP II), has provided 42 motorbikes, along with complete accessories, to 21 project woredas across the Oromia Region.

The initiative aims to strengthen local project implementation capacity, improve field-level supervision, and facilitate the delivery of development activities in pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.

The motorbikes were procured by LLRP II at a total cost of ETB 28.3 million and were officially handed over to Woreda Project Coordinators during a ceremony attended by OIPB heads, the Regional Project Coordination Unit (RPCU) Manager, and project staff.

The provision of these motorbikes is expected to improve the mobility of project personnel, enhance monitoring and follow-up activities, and support the timely implementation of project interventions in the participating woredas.

Funded by the World Bank Group and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), LLRP II works to strengthen livelihood resilience and support sustainable development in pastoral and agro-pastoral communities.

This support represents an important step toward improving operational capacity at the woreda level and strengthening the implementation of development activities throughout the project areas.
